Week 5 of Competition Season: Raleigh District Competition

“When the sky turns green, lift up your eyes to the sky and you will see Falcons soaring high up in the sky- 5190 the Green Hope Falcons!”

Our last chance to show off our robot before the state competition was given to us during the second district competition which was held at the Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School in Raleigh, NC on the fifth week of the 2017 Steamworks FRC competition started.

Moving all around the school – from second floor for the Chairman’s Award interview and Dean’s List Award interview to the pit in dance room of the school – we were getting ready for the robot and our team for this event. All of our members felt good about this event; and this feeling did not disappoint us as we finished our qualification matches as 2nd place of the event!

Allying with team 6004 the f(x) Robotics and team 2642 the Pitt Pirates, we were able to get through all the playoff matches of the event. Winning last 2 out of 3 rounds at the finals, we were able to bring back our very first blue banner to our build space.

We not only had that but also got our second Quality Award at our district level! Our hard work and collaborating with other teams at the events allowed us to be qualified to be at State event!

We again sincerely thank our sponsors: Gamma Technology, Qualcomm, United Therapeutics, Green Hope PTSA!

We will be back soon with our amazing story at states which was held on March 31st to April 2nd.
